Tom Sessions is the Chief of Tech. He is responsible to ensure every car is checked over before driving onto the track. Tom will be at the track on Fridays so you can bring your car out early and avoid the lines on Saturday. After passing inspection, Tom will put a sticker on your windshield so the Grid Marshall knows your car can enter the track.
Things to get ready for:
When you bring your car to tech, Tom will look at the condition of your tires, the condition of your brake pads, the condition of your car, brake rotors, and wheels, and check to see if center caps need to be removed (depending upon the wheel). He will look at the rims for cracks. Under the hood, he will check for the condition of the brake fluid. He will take a general overview of the engine compartment, pulleys, hoses, belts, etc. He will look for anything out of the ordinary. Depending upon the year and model, he will check the crank bolt. He will check the condition of the clutch fluid, and check the boiling point of the brake fluid. He will check the coolant level, and check the overflow jug where it applies. He will make sure the body is intact and the panels are intact and secure. He will check the windshield, and that there are no cracks obstructing the driver’s view. He will check the interior of the car, and make sure the floor mats are gone. No loose items. He will check the driver for safety equipment. SA2000 helmet or SA2005 no more than 5 yrs old is required. There is a one event waiver for new customers. We discourage the use of motorcycle helmets as they are not made for track use. In reference to car classifications, please list the modifications of your car, and bring to tech inspection.
